This course is specifically designed to provide trainees with the knowledge, skills and the ability to deliver training to others with reference to the abrasive wheels regulations set down in the Safety, Health and Welfare At Work (General Applications) (Amendment) Regulations 2016 ( SI no. 36 of 2016)
Course Content Covered Includes
Legislation, Hazards associated, Precautions to be observed, Markings system & information on abrasive wheels, Types of machinery in use, Machinery components & functions, Requisite PPE, Visual Inspections of discs and tools, Storage and transportation requirements, Practical experience selecting and mounting discs to tools, Risk Assessments and Hot Work Permit reviews.
All trainees will get a chance to present a part/ module of the course and will be asked to evaluate, assess and critique deliveries in order to aid personal development and experience on same.
Participants will also be theory tested on course content and will be assessed on their practical abilities on selection, inspection and mounting of discs.
Upon course completion trainees will be provided with all the tools needed to aid delivery to their own clients. Material provided will include presentations, course questions, project exercises, evaluation sheets and a copy of the legislation. Thereafter all participants will automatically be provided with any updated course content, advice on selection and use of training aids or changes in legislation relating to the course.

Instructor is a QQI Qualified Trainer, Certified Abrasive Wheels Instructor and comes from a Construction Trade/ Professional background.
Course gives trainees the background knowledge, experience & ability to safely select, inspect, store, and mount abrasive wheels.
Content covered includes hazards, legislation, Abrasive Wheels Markings, Safe Storage and Transportation of abrasive wheels/ tools.
All trainees sit Theory Tests & Practical assessments are carried out individually.
3-year Certificate issued to participants upon successful completion of course.

This course is designed for those with Fire safety responsibilities within their organisation including managers, supervisors and employees.
Participants are coached on the role of fire wardens within organisations with particular reference on their duties on fire prevention including identification of and reporting of hazards, actions on discovery of fire, means of raising the alarm, evacuation procedures, firefighting and safe use and selection of extinguishers.

Content covered includes Legislation, Chemistry and mechanics of Fire, Fire Hazard Identification Prevention and reporting, Fire Spread and compartmentation, Evacuation procedures and means of escapes, Passive fire protection and mandatory periodical inspections of equipment including alarms extinguishers and signage, Selection and Safe use of Fire Extinguishers and other types of firefighting equipment including hose reels and fire blankets.

This course is designed to ensure that trainees are aware of both their employers and their own responsibilities in relation to working at height legislation. Participants will receive training on responsibilities in relation to planning working at height tasks, working at height hazard management, the hierarchy of controls, Importance of rescue plans and risk assessments, demarcation and establishment of work zones, equipment types and suitability for specific tasks.
Course training and content covered includes WAH legislation, differences and suitability ofFall arrest & Fall restraint equipment, visual inspections of Harnesses Lanyards& FPE, safe selection and fitting of Safety Harnesses and lanyards, recording of and periodical frequency of WAH equipment inspections, Fall dynamics, Suspension Trauma and WAH Rescues.

Manual handling accounts for the largest percentage of absence through work related injuries in the workforce in Ireland. In order to comply with the 2005 Safety Health & Welfare at Work Act and the Manual Handling Regulations 2007, employers must provide training in order to minimise the risk and prevent the likelihood of injuries to staff.
Course content
Content covered includes Legislation, Risk assessments, Make-up and components of the spine, nature of and reasons for back/ disc injuries, Biomechanics and Ergonomics and its importance in their work environment.
Upon completion trainees will be able to:-
• Risk Assess before attempting manual handling tasks
• Be aware of dangers of incorrect lifting and resultant implications
• Possess the ability to apply Manual Handling principles/ training to ensure safe movement of loads and prevent injuries
• Be aware of the importance of ergonomically setting up their work place correctly
All participants receive and carry out practical demonstrations on safe moving of loads using manual handling principles/ techniques. Trainees will be practically assessed on their capabilities of same and must complete a theory test on course content.

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to enable operators to safely use Mobile Elevated Work Platforms.
Course training content covered includes WAH legislation, Identify the needs regarding personal protection equipment, Harnesses/ restraint working at height equipment, Inspections and record keeping requirements on MEWP’s and WAH equipment, Pre-Use checks and visual inspections, MEWP types, Associated hazards, SWL and Capacities, Emergency responses & rescues, Understand the duties of a MEWP operator, MEWP spotter Awareness, how to drive machines in a safe controlled manner.
All participants are theory tested on course content, assessed on practical functionality on machinery and abilities on the safe selection and fitting of harness and lanyards.
